Bonanova is another neighborhood located in Barcelona’s zona alta and has some of the same characteristics as Pedralbes: impressive single-family homes and upscale condominiums boasting private gardens and pools. However, Bonanova is filled with shops, restaurants and some of the most prestigious gyms and clubs of the city, such as the men’s only Arsenal, the women’s only Metropolitan Iradier or Bonasport, a family-friendly club with impressive views of Barcelona and the Mediterranean and a tennis academy founded by Orantes, one of Spain’s best tennis players of all times. The best local and international schools are a short distance away and many parents walk their kids to school every morning; a privilege that also allows for the most ecological school transportation system! Bonanova, like Sarriá, has an excellent public transportation system that includes buses and trains (Barcelona’s Ferrocarrils). The rondas, highways and the airport are all easily reached from any point of this neighborhood.
