Castle in Santa Susana, Maresme
Max Ricart presents this unique castle with a Watchtower in Santa Susana, one of the most well-preserved towers that has been cataloged as a Cultural Asset of National Interest since 1949. The watchtowers have a rich history, as they were used during the Iberian-Roman era as a way to warn for pirates--a frequent danger at the beginning of the 16th century alone the Torrejada coast, now known as the Maresme coast.
Upon entering the property through its garden of pines, cypresses and olive trees and seeing the silhouette of De la Torre and la Masía, there is a pleasant reminder of the history of the castle. Once you enter through the main door of the farmhouse, the first room we find is one of the dinings rooms, with a fireplace and separated by period arches with a second room with access to another dining room with views of the pool and the sea. Through the windows, there are pleasant views of vegetation and stone walls.
Across the living room, we access the kitchen with a guest bathroom. On the other side, the base of a tower has stairs that take us to a beautiful reading space or office area, with large glass windows and sea views. After crossing a living room with a fireplace, we enter the suite room of the tower.
If we return to the main hall, we find access to a staircase to the cellar where there is a beautiful room with a vaulted ceiling and a door to the outside. On the ground floor, there is another double room with a bathroom, and on the upper floor there is another suite-style room with views.
The property has two indoor and two outdoor parking spaces. It also has a tourist license, and is currently being operated as a vacation rental, so it remains a good option as an investment.
